I ordered this gift for my husband for Christmas and although it didn't 't come until mid-January, it was worth the wait. My husband has been using it non-stop since to convert our 35mm slides and negatives. Pictures we didn't expect to have. It's easy to use and the quality of the digital pictures is great!

I received this as a gift and really didn't think that it would work well at all but was pleasantly surprised when I connected it to my laptop via the included USB cable, put a few slides in the included cartridge ran it into the converter and within seconds had converted them to decent quality digital images. I transferred them to the computer, viewed them and was quite impressed. Within an hour or so I had converted 80 slides. Since, I have converted well over 1000. I did buy an SD card so that I could convert more at a time and transfer them to the laptop all in one sitting. It would be nice if it had included the SD card and maybe an additional cartridge but for the money, I don't think you can beat this unit. The instructions are a bit scant but it's not brain surgery to use this. It may not give as high quality digital output as much more expensive units but I do also have a much larger and more expensive unit that is a pain to use, much slower and I don't think does any better job. As will probably most converters, the quality of what you're trying to convert is a huge issue. If your slides/negatives are dirty, you'll getting questionable results with any of them. Oh yes, I did try it with some 35mm color negatives and the results were as impressive as with 35mm slides. Have fun with this device!
