Excellent product for hot, burning feet
I have neuropathy type pain in my feet that flairs up at night. I keep the gel mat at the foot of the bed, folded in two, with a frozen sports gel pad between the layers. This keeps the gel mat cold all night long and provides very welcoming relief from the pain and burning. The frozen sports gel alone only provides relief for one surface of one foot, but with the gel mat I can tuck both feet in-between the two layers and get cooling I need. The mat is a bit pricy, but worth it for me.

A good nights sleep, finally!
This product surprised me. It really does stay cool and helps me to fall asleep. If I wake up during the night with a hot flash, I roll to the other side of the mat and feel instantly cooler and am able to fall back to sleep. The cons; takes some getting used to and feels hard and bumpy but after 2 nights, I couldn't sleep without it and even took it with me on vacation. If your room is already warm- it will not stay as cool. Definitely works better directly against you and not under the sheet. We have no A/C and for a few hot summer nights, I put it in the freezer for an hour before bedtime. Wonderfully cool! I would definitely recommend this mat if you can get past the firmness.

It has Drawbacks
It does a great job in cooling you down at the beginning but it does seem to warm up after a few hours and takes a while to cool again. Also it "bunches up" in the middle where it folds even if you have it under the sheet or other pad.

Better Than the Chillow
I have only used this product for 2 weeks, but it is the best product I have found for relieving "tossing the pillows" or aerobic sleeping to find a cold spot in the bed. I also suffer from Restless Leg Syndrome and have found that the coolness of the gel mat has helped in keeping my legs relaxed. I am going to purchase another to get maximum usage of the length of our King size bed. Will be purchasing one for my sister as well

I bought this for my husband, who sweats profusely at night. He found it uncomfortable. Also, he doesn't move a lot at night, so it didn't help him. I tried it to deal with my night sweats, but I am always COLD when I first go to sleep, and this made it too cold at the beginning of the night! A dilemma....

Slightly disappointed, but helps
I recently had back surgery and needed to cool my back at times to ease pain. The size is very nice and allows a person to roll over and stay on the mat. The mat does chill the back, but is very stiff feeling, and does not stay cool very long. I would also suggest that it come with some type of covering, like a pillowcase, etc. to soften. I feel that the price is a bit high for this device.

I was skeptical but desperate. I was tired of waking up with hot flashes and losing sleep. I simply put a pillow case over my Gelmat (because it was too cold without it), and it provided cool relief for my hot flashes. The only drawback is that it is heavy... I am trying to figure out a way to take it on vacation with me this summer when I am traveling by air. May have to just pack less so that I can pack my Gelmat in my checked luggage (have to stay under the weight limit)!

Not a cool gelmat
I did not find this product to perform as advertised. Of course it was cooling at first but it retained body heat through the night and I was no more comfortable with the gelmat than without it.
